A case study to analyze in praxis copyright relevant AI issues: Pharos, the Greek AI Factory

Greece’s vision for AI comes to life through Pharos, the Greek AI Factory, realizing the objectives of the Blueprint for Greece’s AI transformation that prescribes a culturally sovereign digital future. This is a common initiative where creators are essential partners, not only preserving but actively shaping the future of Greek language, culture, music, and creative expression in AI ecosystems worldwide.

To support this transition, it is vital to revisit the notion of copyright and related frameworks with the realities of AI training, generation, and commercialization, ensuring transparency, fair value distribution, and sustainable innovation.

Together, through ethical design, technical excellence, and shared governance, the foundations for a culturally sovereign, internationally competitive, and creator-driven AI future for Greece. After the presentation of PHAROS by Alexandros Nousias, the other speakers will comment from their perspective and expertise on this project, highlighting the challenges that will bring from a copyright perspective.
