Beyond Sound: Ocean Preservation and the Protection of Earth’s Natural Rhythm

May 10 - 12:30 pm - 12:45 pm

Whales sing. Dolphins click and whistle. The ocean is full of voices—many of which we’re drowning out. This presentation, hosted by Greenpeace, dives into the often-overlooked world of marine sound and why it matters. From cargo ships to underwater drilling, human noise is disrupting the natural rhythm of the sea, confusing marine animals and breaking vital communication lines. But there’s hope. We’ll explore how protecting these sounds means protecting entire ecosystems – and why aiming towards turning back into nature’s original soundtrack/sound bites might just help us save the planet. At the end of the day, this will help us become better humans.
