Showcase: Irini Mando (GR)

May 7 - 8:00 am - 9:55 pm

Irini Mando has been independently releasing music since 2015, including ghostwriting for Warner Music US. Her single “Hang” was featured on the Amy Winehouse Foundation’s first compilation album, recorded in Winehouse’s personal studio, and released through Island Records UK.

In 2019, the remix of “MVP (feat. Jay Lyn Gatz)” gained traction, being featured during the NBA Playoffs by the Portland Trailblazers DJ OG One and added to their official game playlist. Just before the 2020 quarantine, she released the visually striking “Champagne Nights Out” music video, directed by Konstantinos Gkoumpetis (Vogue Germany, Vogue Italy).

Irini has performed internationally at Canadian Music Week and ASCAP EXPO, having been awarded PRS Foundation’s International Showcase Fund; she also was invited to attend BPI’s UK Sync Mission at Capitol Records LA. Her work has garnered support from Apple Music, Vevo, and multiple sync placements, including with the NBA.

Her Trouble EP, exploring love and self-worth, features collaborations with Sebastian Seville (Kanye West), Mafro (The Vibe Room, Saint Harisson, Ghetts), and Enz (Steam Down, Kojey Radical), with mixing and mastering by Jonas Westling (Lady Gaga, James Arthur). The single “Warning” saw significant success, receiving editorial support from Apple Music and featured on the Brown Sugar playlist across 11 countries.

Irini embarked on a UK-wide school tour 2021-2023, playing hundreds of shows to thousands of young people over two years, before taking a break from live performances. She recently returned to the stage to make a guest appearance at her friend, collaborator and SXSW award winner Lemzi’s homecoming headline show, where they performed their song “Crestfallen” together.

In 2024, the artist focussed predominantly on honing in on her songwriting craft, partaking in four songwriting camps across Europe (Tallinn, Berlin and Cologne), expanding her repertoire by writing in German, French and Greek as well as working with International artists (Olivia Addams, Honny, Cartoon Baboon).

Her latest project, Late Nights / Early Mornings, highlights her most personal work, collaborating with Mafro, Steven G-Legend (Ghetts, Little Simz), and Ro9 (Jae5, Ms Banks).

She closed 2024 by jumping on DJ AG’s TikTok live stream, receiving a wheel-up and praise for having “the voice of an angel.”
