SUMMARY:Showcase: Buckwise (IT)
DESCRIPTION:Buckwise is a dream pop and IDM musical project from Puglia\, active since 2018 and constantly evolving. The first album “Turning Point” (La Rivolta Records – 2019) traced the coordinates of an original sound\, contaminating indiefolk-pop with full and layered electro sounds. After a first debut tour\, the band took a new artistic direction\, veering towards a more mature and refined sound where the indietronica attitude merges with synthetic orchestrations and pressing rhythms\, thus creating a dreamlike and engaging atmosphere. The lyrics in English offer an introspective vision of reality\, accompanying the listener on an emotional journey between ethereal melodies and deep reflections. Subsequently they signed a publishing contract with Bonimba by Francesco Cerasi\, composer of soundtracks for important productions (Amazon Prime Video\, BBC\, Rai\, Sky Cinema). In 2023 they joined the roster of Dischi Uappissimi: an independent collective-label with a strong focus on research and musical innovation. The entry into these new artistic families led to the release of new singles on digital platforms\, obtaining excellent feedback from audiences and critics\, also managing to export their live shows beyond national borders at the PROtFest in Bijeljina in Bosnia\, at the Tallinn Music Week 2024 in Estonia\, at the FIMU Belfort 2024 in France and at the prestigious Ypsigrock Festival 2024 and TEDx Barletta 2023. They also shared the stage with artists such as Explosions in the Sky\, Ermal Meta\, Santi Francesi and many others. With their constantly evolving sound and their ability to combine catchy melodies with profound lyrics\, Buckwise released their second studio album “NEON” on November 29\, 2024 via Dischi Uappissimi/Bonimba and distributed by Artist First.

DESCRIPTION:Bipolia is a singer-songwriter and street performer who began sharing her music while busking in the streets of London five years ago. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist\, her primary instrument and source of inspiration is the electric guitar. \nAt 19\, she moved to London\, where she started busking\, performing at various venues\, and producing her own music. For the past four years\, she has been based in Athens\, where she performs and self-produced her debut album\, There\, I Said It\, released by Veego Records in October 2024. \nShe has performed at various venues in Athens\, such as Gagarin 205\, Death Disco\, Temple\, Faust\, and SNFCC. Her performances fuse forceful beats\, catchy bass lines\, and a dose of attitude and sweat. Her sound ranges from soft indie rock with melodic electronic elements to post-punk\, often incorporating spoken word to enhance her storytelling. \nHer lyrics explore themes of self-conflict\, body and gender identity\, dysfunctions\, and questions about almost everything.

Her distinctive sound combines the digital and kitsch – bedroom-pop production\, gauche GarageBand MIDI\, and video-game sonics – with poetic songcraft grounded in the voice and acoustic guitar. \nInspired in equal parts by romance and cynicism\, dollmaker’s incisive lyrics spare no personal accounts from tongue-in-cheek scrutiny or sociocultural critique.\nReleased in April 2024\, her debut album ‘In Freefall I Feel Like You’ earned her features in local media\, including Beater and Avopolis\, and indie radio play from Greece’s own Strummer and Palestine’s Radio Alhara as far as WXNA 101.5 Nashville. \nSince her sold-out first full-band show last November\, she’s been laying low to work on a second album under her eternal motto – wholehearted audiolovesnark.

True to its name\, the project thrives on unexpected musical combinations\, intertwining the ancient tones of the kaval with modern influences.
